What possessed her to have these pictures taken right then? She couldn't wait 'til she wasn't in charge of little children? More power to her for getting back at an ex that may have screwed her over1, but be responsible man! Do it on your own time! 1 Unless she's completely insane, which is quite possible based on her actions, and her "revenge" is unwarranted What's for dinner tonight? Roast Placenta...LAS VEGAS --A woman has won a court fight to keep the placenta after her daughter's birth. She had planned to grind it up and ingest it as a way to fight postpartum depression, but now plans to bury it. Uhhhhh, what? She was going to "grind it up and ingest it"?!!!! INGEST IT?! Folks, that means eat it. She was going to EAT IT.I put on my Google hat, and found out that apparently some people believe that eating the placenta helps with post-natal depression. Why people get depressed after giving birth was not part of my research, perhaps I'll look into that later... but for now, back to eating placentas... In addition to the depression, it supposedly helps shrink the uterus back to it's "normal" size. I also learned that placentophagy can be quite common in the animal kingdom. Although it doesn't seem to be that common a practice among humans, it's quite surprising to me that anyone does it. I'm pretty sure, in this day and age of modern medicine, there's no need to eat one's own placenta. If you're suffering from post-natal depression or feel your uterus isn't returning to it's normal size quickly enough, I'm sure there's a pill you can take... and I'm not talking about a pill filled with ground up, dried placenta. I have images of what a placenta looks like, and it ain't a pretty picture... not appetizing in the least. What possessed anyone to ever do this in the first place is beyond me. To each his own I guess. For those wondering whether Kris will eat her placentas, the answer is a resounding no. She will most certainly NOT be eating her placentas. She might, however, eat a grilled chicken sandwich from Wendy's. I'm not sure. In any case, for anyone looking for a good roast placenta recipe, check out this web site.
